Camille, Kelli and Taylor were challenged to find an outfit for $100 or less at the H&M store in New York this past week. In a recent episode, we saw Kelli and Camillie shopping at Intermix, a very expensive store in the city, where they tried on outfits that probably costs in the thousands. Even though according to Camille’s blog on Bravotv.com, neither of the two girls purchased any outfits.
Camille was the girl who took the longest in the store and she admits her favorite fashion is handbags and claims to have 12 in her current rotation, including the Kooba bag sold exclusively in the Bravo store. (Each girl has a bag available in the store. The bags were designed for Kelli, Taylor, Camille and Jessie and are worn by all of the girls on the show. If you want one, you can get one for the low low price of $595.00!)
“I like shopping, but I’m picky. I’ll be the person who takes 25 things into a fitting room and end up with one thing.”
“Her total at H&M? $79.60, which included a hot-pink cardigan ($16.90), a navy, zip-front skirt ($39.90), a tank top ($9.90) and a silver chain necklace ($12.90).”
Kelli is the aspiring singer of the group and finds it hard to adapt her style to colder weather since she’s all about going to the beach. Her signature piece is, of course, a long scarf that we see her wearing so often on the show.
“Last time I went shopping, it was with my dad. I trust their opinions most,” she says. He’s convinced her to get the fringe vest.
“Her favorite part of her $87.60 H&M outfit is the faux-coral cuff bracelet ($9.90). The rest of the ensemble were the shorts ($39.90), scarf ($12.90) and a button-down shirt ($24.90). It took her less than 15 minutes to pick out this look and stick with it.”
And then there is Taylor. She is the girl who didn’t want to shop at Intermix because she didn’t want to spend $500 on t-shirt that she could probably buy at Target and put a flower on. Taylor’s main focus is on comfort. Taylor also claims to be a marathon shopper, meaning she buys a few pieces over time instead of buying a lot of pieces at one time. Taylor has a generous clothes allowance, but her mom won’t let her buy a gold Dolce & Gabanna jacket she’s had her eye on. Her plan is to buy it herself with money she saves from what her mom gives her.
“I wear leggings four or five days a week. I don’t have gold leggings yet, but I’m about to.”
She adds, “I like to shop when I’m not looking for something. … I buy what I like and figure out later what I can wear it with, where I can wear it.”
She wears jeans only on rainy days but will occasionally put on a dress. “I have a lot of things in my closet I don’t wear,” she declares.
“She proves she can be frugal when she needs to be — her H&M bill for two bracelets ($6.90 each), a cardigan sweater ($19.90), tank ($5.90) and the leggings was $64.50, leaving her within striking distance of the dressier nude-colored sleeveless blouse that cost $35.90.”
