Camille Turns 18 Chuck Bass Style

Camille Hughes turned 18 and have a flapper themed blast. You can check out more pictures of the bash, but guess who wasn’t there! No members of the NYC Prep cast.
The flapper themed birthday turned into a dance party, and for some lucky partiers, a heavy makeout session. There was also a stripper, pasties and all. As a girl, I would think a male stripper would be more appropriate (call me crazy), but you know, whatever floats your boat. Also interesting is the absence of her reality show co-horts. Were bridges burned by the birthday girl? If so, at least now she’s old enough to sign (or not) her own release forms…

Camille Hughes Kicked Out of Nightingale-Bamford School
We all know that Nightgale didn’t approve of the show and didn’t want their image to be tarnished in anyway. How did they clear it up? They kicked Camille out of school!
“At some point over the summer, Hughes and her parents made alternate arrangements for her senior year. According to several Nightingale parents and students, Hughes was informed several weeks ago that she would “not be welcome” back when classes recommenced this fall. A school official, however, says that is not the case. Darrel Frost, Nightingale’s director of communications, says the school was “expecting her back this fall” and had reserved a place for her, but that Hughes and her parents had made the decision to enroll at another school, so that “Camille could focus on a different educational route.”
So where is she going to school now? The Profession Children’s School! Wait! Isn’t that where Jenny Humphrey wanted to go to school on Gossip Girl?
According to the school’s website, offers a home to “students who are preparing for, or already pursuing, careers in the performing arts, entertainment or competitive sports, or who are drawn to a creative environment supportive of the arts.” Did we miss something about Camille? I didn’t know that she was into the arts like this. Remember she said you wanted to be head of a genetics firm? That doesn’t sound like a career in the arts to me.

QOTW: What do you want Season 2 of NYC Prep to Look Like?

The season is ending and we want to know, what do you hope to see in Season Two? Same old cast, new faces mixed with old, all new faces? And what do you want them to show more of: the relationships, the friendships, the partying?

Where are they now?
So this week’s episode was not very helpful when it comes to blogging, so I thought I would write a blog that really has nothing to do with the episode. What i decided was to do a spoof on the show Where Are They Now? So, I am going to come up with fictional futures for each of the characters in the show. These futures are approx. 10-15 years from now. Enjoy…
Kelli: Kelli’s singing career took off, she has several gold albums, but no platinum ones. Why no platinum? Kelli never got over being uncomfortable on the stage in front of so many people and was therefore unable to get a record deal with a major label. So, what is a girl with a killer voice and stage fright to do… Go To Disney!!! That’s right, Kelli is the singing voice behind many of the newest female Disney characters. Why no Platinum albums, because Disney soundtracks don’t sell that many copies.
PC: Well PC always said that he was ready for something new, but as the Rolling Stones said “You can’t always get what you want.” PC is still living at his parents house (Billy Madison style) and is up to absolutely nothing. He has never had a job and hasn’t had a girlfriend for at least a decade (hmmmm……). One thing PC is good at is losing the Private Investigator that his parents keep hiring to find out where he sneaks off to in the middle of the night. However, our sources tell us that he frequents the house of an unnamed male model. What are you up to PC?
Sebastian: After three wives, three nasty divorces and uncounted torrid love affairs, Sebastian is doing well, though the same can’t be said for his wallet. He still insists that he is the consummate player, but of course he always falls for the girl he is trying to play and ends up marrying her. Of course, he then remembers that HE is the player, has an affair, gets divorced and she gets half. Sebastian I have to ask… How much is half of a half of a half?
Jessie: Of the NYC Prep kids Jessie is doing the best. She is living the dream as the PR Rep for Michael Kors. Her unrivaled work ethic and love of all things fashion have shot her strait to the top. Of course, it isn’t all perfect in Jessie-land. She is still waiting on her dream man to realize that he isn’t really gay and that he is actually in love with her. And i always thought that smart and dumb were mutually exclusive. Oh well, I guess you can’t always have your cake and eat it too.
Taylor: Taylor has actually found a way to put all of her skills to use… and yes, she is a licensed elephant trainer. She is currently employed in Las Vegas as a member of Cirque du Soleil. All those gymnastics workouts and dance lessons are really paying off. And how lucky is it that her Cirque show has animals and, of course, she is featured with the elephants. She and Cole are no longer together…Cole left her as soon as the cameras stopped following her. I wonder how many elephants it takes to snag a decent guy in Vegas?
Camille: Camille did get in to Harvard (quite easily actually). But unfortunately, she had never really given much thought to what she wanted to do after college. She graduated with a degree in Liberal Arts and set out into the real world. She is currently between jobs and never really manages to keep one for long. Maybe it has something to do with always telling people what they are doing wrong and calling them “abrasive.” She is also without a boyfriend(due to her extremely high standards) but has been known to take men home for the unclarified “good time.” Hey, as long as you know you are smarter than they are, who cares what they think!
Well, that wraps up where are they now? Let me know what you think about my alternate futures for the kids or create some of your own. I would love to know where you see one or all the kids in the next 10-15 years. They can be funny/sarcastic like mine or you can tell me where you honestly think they will end up.

NYC Prep Girls Go Shopping

New York Magazine
Camille, Kelli and Taylor were challenged to find an outfit for $100 or less at the H&M store in New York this past week. In a recent episode, we saw Kelli and Camillie shopping at Intermix, a very expensive store in the city, where they tried on outfits that probably costs in the thousands. Even though according to Camille’s blog on Bravotv.com, neither of the two girls purchased any outfits.
Camille was the girl who took the longest in the store and she admits her favorite fashion is handbags and claims to have 12 in her current rotation, including the Kooba bag sold exclusively in the Bravo store. (Each girl has a bag available in the store. The bags were designed for Kelli, Taylor, Camille and Jessie and are worn by all of the girls on the show. If you want one, you can get one for the low low price of $595.00!)
“I like shopping, but I’m picky. I’ll be the person who takes 25 things into a fitting room and end up with one thing.”
“Her total at H&M? $79.60, which included a hot-pink cardigan ($16.90), a navy, zip-front skirt ($39.90), a tank top ($9.90) and a silver chain necklace ($12.90).”
Kelli is the aspiring singer of the group and finds it hard to adapt her style to colder weather since she’s all about going to the beach. Her signature piece is, of course, a long scarf that we see her wearing so often on the show.
“Last time I went shopping, it was with my dad. I trust their opinions most,” she says. He’s convinced her to get the fringe vest.
“Her favorite part of her $87.60 H&M outfit is the faux-coral cuff bracelet ($9.90). The rest of the ensemble were the shorts ($39.90), scarf ($12.90) and a button-down shirt ($24.90). It took her less than 15 minutes to pick out this look and stick with it.”
And then there is Taylor. She is the girl who didn’t want to shop at Intermix because she didn’t want to spend $500 on t-shirt that she could probably buy at Target and put a flower on. Taylor’s main focus is on comfort. Taylor also claims to be a marathon shopper, meaning she buys a few pieces over time instead of buying a lot of pieces at one time. Taylor has a generous clothes allowance, but her mom won’t let her buy a gold Dolce & Gabanna jacket she’s had her eye on. Her plan is to buy it herself with money she saves from what her mom gives her.
“I wear leggings four or five days a week. I don’t have gold leggings yet, but I’m about to.”
She adds, “I like to shop when I’m not looking for something. … I buy what I like and figure out later what I can wear it with, where I can wear it.”
She wears jeans only on rainy days but will occasionally put on a dress. “I have a lot of things in my closet I don’t wear,” she declares.
“She proves she can be frugal when she needs to be — her H&M bill for two bracelets ($6.90 each), a cardigan sweater ($19.90), tank ($5.90) and the leggings was $64.50, leaving her within striking distance of the dressier nude-colored sleeveless blouse that cost $35.90.”

NYC Prep Kids Don’t Get In Everywhere
PC talks about NYC is all about connections and how you can’t do anything without them. Well I guess his connections did him no good because he and Jessie were still barred from going to a party. Jessie and PC wanted to attend the Three-O Vodka party, with friend and Real Housekid of NYC, Ally Zarin (who did actually make it into the party even though she is underage), but were barred from entering because they are underage.Ally tried desperately to get them in, but it just wasn’t successful.
After a couple of minutes of waiting around and the bodyguard standing in front of them, the clipboard girl at the door is apparently told by higher-ups that publicity for her vodka client regarding NYC Prep kids getting turned away from the party is better than publicity about them drinking there.
New York Magazine later e-mailed Ally Zarin and said they left to go to Via dei Mille where they had “fun.”

I’m with you PC!
So, I may be alone in this… but I have had a change of heart about PC. After the first episode I would have said that he was by far my least favorite person on the show. I would have said that his dominant personality trait was “prick.” He seemed superficially into fashion. By this I mean that his interest in fashion was not genuine, but rather a ploy to make him seem cooler or more hip to others. All in all I basically thought that he was fake and extremely smarmy.
However, after seeing the second episode I now see PC in a new light. Allowing the show to film you in a therapy session was, in my opinion, very brave. Not that I think that PC “needs help” but that is the connotation associated with someone going to a therapist. This act has made me rethink my idea that he does things in order to look mas awesome to others. No one who is overly concerned about what others are thinking about them would allow their therapy session to be filmed for all the world to see. Even though the session did not reveal anything dark or deep, it was still a very gutsy thing to do.
Now, lets move on to PC’s need to end a life of casual sex. I know in the podcast that I was making serious fun of PC for constantly talking about how he was over having casual sex like all the other kids in prep school, and I still maintain that it is hilarious how many times he felt the need to mention it. However, if it is true, it is an admirable notion. It does show a certain level of maturity on PC’s part (which at 18 it’s about time). I mean, i was through with casual sex by 14… what took him so long. All kidding aside, after the first episode I would have pegged PC for a real player. Not in the amateur way that Sebastian is a player (”Hey, let me get your number”), but in a more mature way that still involved a steady string of ladies. Though if his admonition that he wants a serious relationship is real I think it is worthy of some praise.
All in all, I think that what PC really wants to be is different. He wants to differentiate himself from the “typical” prep school kids. Whether it is by being a guy who is really into fashion or by not having casual sex. However he chooses to do it I applaud it. Being different is something we should all strive for. Will I applaud next week, who knows. This may be just another ploy by a talented bullshit artist to get us on his side. Only time will tell, but for now I stand behind you PC.

QOTW: What is your biggest issue with the show?

NYC Prep finally premiered and the people are saying it’s good, but it’s no Gossip Girl. What is your biggest issue with the show? And it is being deemed the ‘Gossip Girl’ reality spin off, so will NYC Prep fill your Gossip Girl void until it returns in September?

NYC Prep Teens & Their Schools
There seem to be a lot of searches coming into the site looking for the schools the NYC Prep teens go to. Well I don’t live in NYC and I don’t know them personally, but I did find a list of the schools they go to. This may not be a correct list, but this is what we have.
The schools did not want to be mentioned on the show, therefore we will hear no mention of the schools or see them at any school events out of respect of the educational institutions.
Does it bother you that school will not be a part of NYC Prep?
